Trotter Covers

My friend Antoinette bought me my wedding shoes long before I had found a wedding dress, but I'm not 1OO% sure that they are going to work with the dress I picked.  Peep 'em:

Since we're looking at August 6th (not exactly Eskimo weather in Edmonton), I'm debating getting some  sandals to wear in addition to these beauties.

 { You wouldn't know it by looking at this image, but these sandals by Browns are BLINDING with sparkles.  They also come in gold!  }

{  These Seychelles almost make me wanna swap in my ridiculous Lady Di gown and go for a Cleopatra sheath instead. Almost. }

{  If I could handle myself in these for an entire day I would.  The colour is lickable.  }

The Pastor

Warren and I batted the idea of getting married around long enough that we had a few things sorted out in our heads before we were even engaged.  One of those things was who we really wanted to officiate our wedding.  And that was/is This Guy.

{  Nathan Carroll.  Family man, ladies man, musician supreme.  }

The Dude of Honor

Meet my maid of honor: my lil bro.

{ Caleb always has lasers and fog machines at his parties, so you just know the bachelorette party is going to be "off the chain". }

Buy it for me.

One of the best parts of getting married is getting to register for things that you know no person in their right mind would EVER buy you.  Even if it was the only thing on your registry.  But it's fun to put this stuff on anyway and hope for a rich and strange future.

{ the Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer is a thing of beauty. }

{ You think your grandmother is going to buy you this print by Aled Lewis (a part of his Make Something Cool Every Day project for 2O11) if you put it on your registry?  She's not. }

i dream in flatware

Warren was a real-life champ when we hit up Southgate to register for some post-nuptial "loot".  He made it through the first 1/2 hour before we had get lunch (and buy him shoes), and he only took one nap break  (on our future bed, so it was acceptable). What a sport!

 here's to at least another 3 years of never taking him registry-shopping ever again, and loving every minute of it.

fava fave (get it? like the rapper?)

There will be no fronting:  If someone is flying in from another country to come to my wedding, they are mos def taking home something memorable as a favour.

{ totally adorbs mini strawberry plants on a magnetic board.  the brainchild of youaremyfave. }

jam?  who doesn't love jam.

a little succulent for the road

{ an entire how-to on making home-made vanilla extract can be found on Ruffled! }

Warren and I already decided on little jars of jam as take-aways, so I'll have to wait until my next wedding to send guests away with lil vanillas.

where mah girrrls at

Picking out bridesmaid dresses is the pits when you

a) don't want your bridesmaids to wear the same thing
b) don't want your bridesmaids to look like hot garbage.

Here's the colour palette: predominantly mustard/yellows, teals, and green.  With a couple dots of happy orange.

And sooooooooo here's what i've brainstormed so far!

he liked it (me), so he put a ring on it

...and now it's time for me to return the favour, minus all the diamonds. Boys don't like diamonds.

{ rings shown are from The Artworks, and are part of the Calgary-based Konzuk eclipse line. }

Calgary is the new Edmonton

Warren and i hit up calgary this weekend to:
a) hang out with my parents
b) attend a photography seminar

But what we actually did was:
a) hang out with my parents
b) sit on the couch watching battlestar galactica until 5 in the morning
c) go bike shopping at Bike Bike
d) go book shopping

Obviously we had a way more productive weekend than we planned.

if it's not supported by a crust and isn't filled with fruit, i don't want to know it exists! bring on the wedding pie!
